Arching: Arching occurs when material builds up and forms a bridge-like structure across the flow path, blocking the movement of material. This creates a complete blockage, halting the flow entirely. Bridging: this occurs when material bridges over equipment, thus preventing it from falling freely and also restricting the downward flow.
